YUMMY- This started my weekend with one of my all time favorite dishes: Pepper Steak. I used the long-grain wild rice instead of white rice (for time purposes) but as usual- it was still amazing.
Then FRIDAY night was:
BATTING PRACTICE
Yep, I joined an adult softball league with a two of my coworkers, Joanie & Marsella. So more updates and possible pictures will be appearing on here once we start playing. So far we went to the batting cages and I hit about 60 balls and worked out some random ab and leg muscles I never knew I had. This will definitely help me get into shape ;-)
SATURDAY started with lunch at COSTCO.
I know its not the most common lunch spot, but it seems to be whenever I am with Mirtha. I live 1/2 a mile away from Christown mall, which has the Costco Food Court right in the center of the mall. And being able to feed 3 people for under $10 is always a good deal (especially when we are spending the rest of the time shopping)
ShOpPiNg!!!
Above is a photo of Myself, Alexi, and Mirtha with our new boots!! It was a pretty good shopping day, I was able to get these boots, a nice blue pleated skirt for work, and a top for work also. Alexi got a bunch of cute outfits for school. Congrats on starting high school!
Pa-Pa-Pa-Poker Face
Pa-Pa Poker Face.
Saturday night was poker night with the Pearman's and Cory came to visit :-) I had no luck and Cheryl ended up coming in second place with Jon winning! Overall a good time with some good pizza.
SUNDAY was Racquetball with Cory in the squash courts :-(. I was told that at the gym in the Sheraton by my work (since I work for liberty mutual, I get free access) there are some racquetball courts. I was SO excited to go and try them out, that I took Cory with me after lunch from:
Fajitas was good. Not the least expensive place, but still mighty yummy. But anyways... Cory and I went to the gym by my work only to find squash ball court, which means super squished, wide racquetball-like court with angled walls... which = no good for fun :-(
Oh well, we played one game but then tried some of the exercise machines and left to watch:
I can't say that I was a huge fan. I just may have been too tired, but it was a little too long to keep my attention.
Kenny also came over to cook some asparagus which we took to my parent's house for dinner with most of my family: Mom, Dad, Justin, Kelly, Brian, Andrea, Cory, Kenny and Me! Kenny and I tried to make my plain dinner roles a little more interesting by roasting garlic in the oven, mixing that with some butter and topping the roles with the garlic butter. I must say that the roasted garlic is oh so oh so yummy and smells delicious too :-)
Another one of my Tucson friends came this weekend to visit me: John's Dog: Eva, who was so good all weekend, until:
Tido was moody this weekend from not sleeping with his mama, but Eva and KC were pretty obedient and happy the whole time. Eva freaked out a little once Cory was loading the car and messed up the blinds. My poor blinds have been beaten by all these dogs and are soon to be replaced by some curtains. :-)
As you can see, usually my weekends aren't this full, so I didn't get to relax as much as I would like and it really flew by...
