my final tie- time for adulthood

So turns out that with USAA auto insurance:
 being financially independent
+ not living with your parents
= you can't be on your parents auto policy.

= Carmen gets her own auto policy
= Carmen gets her car registered in her name to get her own insurance policy
 =
the first time I am completely financially independent and pay for everything I do/own/insure/rent/etc.

Crazy HUH??

Well to start the end of my financially independence was this :-(
8am on a Monday morning.  I should have looked this up before, but this last Friday was actually one of the state's mandatory furlough days... meaning all of the AZ MVDs (Motor Vehicle Department)were closed, meaning business today was probably a little higher than it would be on normal mornings.

So I got everything all figured out but.... I couldn't keep my license plate!  Even though it is my name, I have to have a signed paper by the previous owners (ie my parents) and I have to bring that paper into the MVD.  I am contemplating whether or not I am willing to take time off of work again to do it or if I should explore other options.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Well anyways, you are witnessing the start of me being an adult.  It may be a little expensive, but I am proud to finally be able to say that I am completely supporting myself :-)
